What we want the advisory board to do

The advisory board will advise the directors on:

  • developments in science and technology
  • research topic prioritisation and selection
  • specific, synergistic and combined impacts of technology on people, firms and organisations, markets, economies, societies, governments, our world and the planet
  • key contacts in science, business, government, academe and other spheres of influence in the UK and internationally
  • specific issues in relation to topics being researched including method and relevant research questions
  • relevant knowledge sources in topics being researched or being considered for research

We will also ask members with particular interests, skills or knowledge to review and comment on work under development and in pre-publication phases.

We will invite members of the advisory board will participate in

  • meetings with key influencers and stakeholders in areas of activity
  • launches of research and publications we have completed
  • debates, seminars and conferences we undertake on topics of interest

How the advisory board will work

Meetings

The advisory board will meet at least annually in London (with international members invited to join remotely).  We will attempt to convene additional meetings virtually, especially on issues of wide interest among members.

Areas of interest

We will ask members of the advisory board to inform us of their areas of interest.  We will make particular attempts to inform members of the advisory board of our activities in their areas of expertise and interest.

Advice on reviews

For each review or research area in which we are undertaking a project, we will form a specific sub-group of the advisory panel.  We will keep all members informed and offer all members of the broader advisory panel the opportunity to comment on all work; we will look to the sub-group for additional review of our focus and work on the topic.

Review of research

We will offer all members of the advisory board the opportunity to comment on draft research reports by Futuresphere.

Involvement in research

If interested, members of the advisory board can participate actively in research projects which Futuresphere undertakes.  Advisory board members should discuss their interest with the directors.
